Frequently Asked Questions.

What states are you licensed in?

I am currently licensed to practice psychotherapy in New York and Florida. You do have to reside in NY or FL for us to engage in Individual Therapy or Couples Therapy. However, if you are seeking Case Consultation or Career Counseling/Executive Coaching, it does not matter where you reside.

What if I'm not sure we’re a good fit?

Before scheduling a therapy session, we’ll have a free 15-minute consultation call. During this call, we will discuss why you’re seeking services, I’ll share information about my therapy approach, and answer any questions about rates, availability, and more.

If I do think we’re a good fit, what’s next?

If we both decide we're a good fit after our consultation call, we'll schedule our first therapy appointment. I'll send you a couple of quick forms to complete before our first session. I'll also send you a link for our video calls that you can use for each session.

What can I expect during my first therapy session?

Your first session will involve discussing your concerns, therapy goals, and we begin to get to know one another. Through a collaborative process, I will begin to understand your needs and identify the best steps forward.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes! Confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of therapy. Your sessions are private, and information shared is kept strictly confidential, except in specific legal circumstances.

How long does therapy typically last?

The duration of therapy depends on individuals needs and goals. Some clients achieve their goal in a few months, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. They have seen the improvements and want ongoing support and a place to process their thoughts and feelings each week.

How often are therapy sessions scheduled?

I meet with the majority of my clients on a weekly basis. I ask that all new clients commit to meeting weekly, for at-least the first 4 weeks. This will allow us to start off on a strong foot, so you can start seeing progress right away. I may recommend that we increase or decrease the frequency of sessions to best meet your needs.

Where will our sessions be?

I offer therapy via zoom for those located in New York and Florida. Teletherapy provides convenient, accessible mental health support, allowing you to attend sessions from home, saving time and ensuring comfort.

Like most specialized providers, I do not participate in any insurance plans. Paying out of pocket provides maximum privacy, confidentiality, flexibility, and ensures we have full authority to decide what kind of treatment is right for you.

Can I use out-of-network insurance benefits?

In some cases you may be eligible to use out-of-network insurance benefits. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at time of appointment. At the end of each month, I will send you a Superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement.

You may call your insurance company directly to confirm your out-of-network coverage. Important questions to ask are, “What are my out of network mental health benefits”, “What is my deductible or what is my out-of-pocket max”, and “Do you cover session code (90834 for individual) and (90847 for couples) for out of network benefits?”

I can also check your Out of Network benefits for you, should you wish. We can discuss this further on the consult call.

I also work with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed.

**Note: Mentaya's goal is to save you time and money. It's completely optional, and as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation.
