Services

Individual Therapy

  • I offer deep Internal Family Systems, Somatic, and EMDR work, especially for those who have tried talk therapy and know they haven’t quite found what they need. I work from the holistic viewpoint that our entire person - mental, physical, past, and present - are deeply connected. Most individuals I work with are looking to better understand overwhelming feelings, and might be experiencing anxiety, depression, disordered eating, sexual trauma, chronic pain, and overall feeling “stuck”. I have experience working with all gender identities and am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I offer a safe space regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, or ability.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a specialized therapeutic approach that helps people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. Using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps you to reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer trigger intense emotions and have a more clear understanding of your experiences. This gentle, yet powerful technique, can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, PTSD, and familial trauma. Many find EMDR to be life changing and are able to gain a sense of calm and understanding.

IFS (Internal Family Systems) or Parts Work is a therapeutic approach that allows you to better understand your inner experiences and impulses as various “parts” of you. These parts can represent different emotions, beliefs, and coping mechanisms. This approach is very useful for building self-esteem as it provides a systematic approach to building self-trust, which creates a more harmonious and balanced self. IFS is beneficial for those seeking deeper self-awareness, healing from childhood trauma and struggling with inner conflict. When combined with somatic therapy, which focuses on the mind / body connection, this approach can also help to relieve chronic pain and fatigue.

Couples Therapy

  • Couples Therapy is designed to help partners in a committed relationship improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their emotional connection. I aim to offer a safe, supportive space for both individuals to express their feelings, explore surfacing issues, and develop healthier ways of relating to one another. Couples I work with are often looking for support getting back on the same page, working through infidelity, or navigating a consensual non-monogamous (open) relationship. I also work with many couples where one partner has completed extensive individual therapy, and the other has not, leading to increased difficulty understanding one another.

    Discernment Therapy

Sometimes, couples are faced with big decisions that can feel impossible to make if you are not on the same page, such as:

    1. Should we get married?

    2. Should we have children? Should we have another child?

    3. Should we buy a house or apartment?

    4. Should we move?

We will meet for eight weeks with a clear structure focused on answering or better understanding one specific question.

Case Consultation

  • I also provide case consultation as needed to fellow therapists who find my approach resonates with them. I have worked as a clinical supervisor for 2+ years at Mindful Moments Mental Health Counseling, PLLC providing clinical interns and LPs with guidance and support. If you are looking for support around the below, please reach out:

    • approaching EMDR with Parts work (IFS) language

    • using Parts Work (IFS) to address chronic pain

    • clarify diagnostic concerns, such as ADHD & ASD

    • explore treatment options

    • challenge therapist blind-spots and/or assist with developing trust in your Therapist Part

    • addressing questions about caseload & burnout

  • I offer time limited support groups 2-3 times a year. If you are interested, please inquire as to when the next group is running

Career: where to start is a four week long support group for young adults needing support around job hunting. The group exists to hold each other accountable in the search and provide support when you get stuck.

Career Counseling/Executive Coaching

  • Whether at the outset of your career, or during a career transition, working with a career professional can provide personalized support in advancing in a career you actually feel satisfied in. Career is such a large part of our lives and there is frankly not enough support in exploring and landing in one that adds positivity to your life.

As a career changer myself, I know how difficult it can be to feel confident moving towards a career you desire. Hailing from the corporate law field, I understand the challenges one faces entering and maintaining a career in the corporate work force.

I work with seasoned career counselor, Nancy Leighton, LMHC, who believes it is important for career counselors to approach our work from an understanding of mental health. We have an approach to career counseling that works with clients to understand how to move forward in achieving their goals when they feel “stuck”.

I have gained expertise in resume writing & formatting, networking, mock interviews, and job search strategies.

For coaching sessions, you need not only reside in NY or FL
